Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs and Alcohol

Mission Statement

(Rev. September 2105)

The Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs and Alcohol is a community action group dedicated to reducing the underage use of alcohol and all illegal drugs in our community.  We aim to promote a substance free culture by implementing environmental strategies and by educating and empowering youth, their families and our community to make safe and healthy decisions.

Through ongoing community collaboration and the use of a research based framework, we believe we can achieve a vision of a safer and substance-free environment for our children.

Since it’s founding in 1984, the Task Force has involved parents, teachers, school, administrators, mental health professionals, village officials and community clergy in its efforts.  We welcome your involvement.

This is information about marijuana and its effects on adolescents and their physical and mental health.  This presentation is part of the information campaign conducted by the Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs and Alcohol during April, 2016, entitled, In Defense of Our Brains.  It coincides with the Defend the Teen Brain Day, which will be observed on April 20, 2016 in Scarsdale and throughout Westchester County by community anti-drug and alcohol coalitions.
